If you are planning to visit Australia for short term business purposes, such as attending a business or educational meeting, seminar, convention, conference, networking or informal studies and training, then you need to apply for the Australia Business Short Visa.

The Business Short Visa means you can stay in Australia for up to three months on any visit within a 12 month period, from the date the visa is granted or for the life of the passport for those expiring in less than 12 months.

In addition to the above, to qualify for this Visa type you must be outside Australia and hold a valid ETA passport.

A Hong Kong Document of Identity (HKDI) cannot be used to apply for an ETA. Residents of Hong Kong require a citizen passport to apply for this visa.

** Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed for an ETA if residing and applying in Taiwan. Applications can be lodged with an approved ETA Travel Agent in Taiwan or Australian Visa Services office in Taipei.

An ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia, which in turn has replaced the traditional visa stamp in your passport. The Tourist Visa (ETA) is valid for 12 months from the date it is granted. You are permitted multiple stays of up to 3 months over the 12 month validity period.

	You must have no criminal convictions.
	Applicants must be outside Australia to apply.
	You are NOT permitted to work on this visa.
	You can study in Australia on an Australia Tourist Visa (ETA) as long as the course you undertake does not exceed more than 3 months in length.
